FCPE Elections - request for sponsor support of the FAST "International" candidate list
Dear Thales employee share owning colleagues,
Recently those of you who acquired shares in the 2002 and 2008 schemes, and still hold them as units within the FCPE, will have received a personal letter from Thales Corporate Human Resources Department in Paris entitled "Election Des Membres du Conseil de Surveillance/of the Members of the Supervisory Board FCPE «Actionnariat Salarie Thales» College «International»”.
The election is for a member of the supervisory board of the FCPE to represent international holders of units in the FCPE for a period of 6 years. In the election those of you with units in the FCPE will have the right to vote for one list of candidates out of one or more lists.
Instead of voting for individuals, as one does in most UK elections, the election process used here involves the electing of a list of candidates. The individual candidate at the top of the winning list becomes a member of the supervisory board representing international holders of units in the FCPE. If during the six-year period the person named at the top of the list of candidates is no longer able to fulfil the role the second person on the list takes the place on the supervisory board, and so on down the list during the six-year period.
Before the actual election, groups of individuals need to come forward and form lists with 5 or more members (candidates). These lists need to be sponsored by at least 100 eligible individuals before they can go forward and form part of the election. Each individual can only sponsor one list. The Thales UK Employee Shareholders Association (TUES) is a member association of the Federation of Associations of Staff Shareholders at Thales (FAST). FAST is putting forward a list of candidates entitled "International". This list consists of Kumiko Wada Wada, (Thales Japan), Juergen Mayle & Hans-Juergen Wagner (Thales Germany), Roger Hall and Tom Mitchell (Chairman and Vice-Chairman of TUES, Thales UK).
The letter you have received from Corporate HR in Paris invites you to become part of a list of candidates (applicants), or to sponsor a list until 18 January 2012. TUES would appreciate sponsorship of the FAST "International" candidate list, to do this all you have to do is
